Boss Jimmy Mullen insists his Walsall side will have put Tuesday's Johnstone's Paint Trophy disappointment behind them come Saturday and will be looking to embark on another cup run.

The Saddlers were one of the favourites to go all the way in the JPT until troubled League Two side Luton dumped them out of the competition at the quarter-final stage in midweek.

Mullen now wants his charges to set off on another journey in the FA Cup - their only remaining cup competition this season.

That starts with victory over League One leaders Scunthorpe in this weekend's first-round tie at the Banks's Stadium.

Mullen said on the club's official website: "For me, the FA Cup still has plenty of magic. It's the best cup competition in the world and to be a part of it is very special.

"I have fond memories of the competition that will stay with me forever and hopefully we can create something here at Walsall. We will have the players bubbly and ready for the challenge that Scunthorpe will present us."
