Notts County captain John Thompson believes his club have still got the power to attract good players despite their lowly league position.
The Magpies finished a disappointing 19th in the recent League Two season and released five players earlier this month as a result.
"I'm sure the attraction of coming to play for a club like this will be a big lure for any player in this league," he told the Nottingham Evening Post. "It doesn't help if you look where we ended up in the league table but players have to look at the bigger picture like I did."
Manager Ian McParland is moving quickly to remedy the problems at the Meadow Lane and has agreed deals to bring Craig Westcarr, Neal Bishop and Ricky Ravenhill to the club, leaving Thompson in no doubt that better times are ahead.
He added: "I could have gone to some League One clubs when I signed here. This is a League Two club but it shouldn't be. I'm hoping other players will see what I saw when I joined and where this club could go.
"If we get going in the right direction it would be a great place to be."
