Darlington boss Dave Penney has finally ruled out any chance of his side making the play-offs this season.
The Quakers were on course for promotion until the club entered administration in February and Tuesday's last-gasp defeat to Wycombe leaves Penney's men seven points adrift of the play-offs with five games remaining.
"We won't make the play-offs. Once we went into administration we had no chance," he told PA Sport. "They're 100% gone, I don't even look at the league table anymore."
Had it not been for the 10 point penalty, Darlington would occupy the final play-off spot and Penney cannot hide his frustration and admits the future is still uncertain.
"It's a nightmare, you've worked for something for seven and half months and then through no fault of your own it's gone. It's tough," he added.
"We're trying to get some pre-season games, but it's in the hands of the administrators. On the football side of things we only hear snippets, so it's difficult."
