Rotherham have signed striker Tom Pope from Crewe in a £150,000 deal which equals the Millers' club record.

The 23-year-old agreed a three-year deal with the League Two club on Thursday and has passed a medical.

Pope scored nine goals in 33 appearances for the relegated Railwaymen last season to top the scoring charts at Gresty Road.

Rotherham's chief operating officer Paul Douglas said: "Tom has agreed terms on a deal with us and we are looking forward to seeing him action when pre-season starts next month.

"I believe the signing of Tom is proof of this clubs undoubted ambition to challenge with the top teams in the division.

"We are very pleased to have signed him and I am sure he will be a real hit with our supporters."
