Shrewsbury have completed the signing of defender David Raven.

The 25-year-old centre-half, who was released by Carlisle at the end of last season, has penned a one-year deal at the Greenhous Meadow Stadium after passing a medical on Friday afternoon.

Boss Graham Turner told the club's official website: "It is great news that a player of David's experience has agreed to come and join Shrewsbury. He can play on the right side of defence or in the centre and this will bring in more good quality competition for places to the squad."
