Bury lost further ground in the League Two promotion race as they were held to a third straight 0-0 draw by Dagenham & Redbridge.

The Shakers made the better chances at Gigg Lane, with top scorer Ryan Lowe denied what looked a fair first-half goal. But the Daggers claimed a deserved point, which saw Bury slip out of the top three on goal difference.

Bury made a positive start with Ryan Cresswell seeing a header cleared off the line and David Worrall sending another effort wide.

Dagenham's Mark Arber then missed the target with a header before the visitors saw a goal disallowed from a scrappy corner.

Ben Futcher headed over for Bury and an end-to-end first half continued with Josh Scott denied by Bury keeper Wayne Brown.

Lowe then saw a goal ruled out for offside after a fine through-ball by Shakers skipper Stephen Dawson.

Daggers' top-scorer Paul Benson fired wide when clean through just after the break.

But visiting keeper Tony Roberts then had to rush out to deny Dawson from Worrall's cross.

And Roberts made another fine save to deny Worrall late on, somehow tipping his goalbound effort over from Mike Jones' low centre.
