Chesterfield manager John Sheridan can name an unnamed side to face Darlington at Saltergate.

The Spireites have no fresh injury worries ahead of the Quakers visit but will be missing striker Jordan Bowery. The 18-year-old, who has made 16 appearances for Chesterfield, has joined Blue Square Premier side Barrow on a six-week loan deal.

And Sheridan will also be without long-term casualties Gregor Robertson, Jamie Lowry and Aaron Downes.

Robertson suffered a double fracture of his left leg a few weeks ago and is likely to be out for the rest of the campaign.

Lowry is also set to miss the rest of the season after having an operation on a cruciate ligament injury.

But the news regarding Aaron Downes is more positive. The 24-year-old has been out for seven months with a cruciate ligament injury but played 45 minutes for the reserves earlier in the week.

Darlington's new loan signing Jonathan Hogg is expected to make his debut.

The 20-year-old midfielder arrived from Aston Villa for an initial month with Steve Staunton's side.

But Staunton could be without French striker Mor Diop, who was forced out of last week's home win over Burton with a calf injury.

James Collins is expected to step up if Diop is ruled out.

Former Coventry defender Stuart Giddings made his debut last week and is set to retain his place in the back four, while Ian Miller formed a solid central defensive partnership with skipper Steve Foster following his return from concussion.

Striker Lee Thorpe, veteran Noel Whelan and midfielder Chris Lumsdon remain sidelined through injury as the Quakers bid for back-to-back wins for the first time since March.
