Shrewsbury welcome back Shane Cansdell-Sherriff for the visit of leaders Rochdale.

The influential defender has missed the last two games through suspension having collected 10 bookings this season but he returns to the fold at the Prostar as Shrews look to banish the memory of last weekend's 3-0 defeat at lowly Grimsby.

However, fellow defender Dean Holden serves the second of his two-match ban for the same offence and will not return until next weekend's trip to Aldershot.

Midfielder Craig Disley is the only member of Paul Simpson's squad out through injury as he continues his recovery from a broken ankle.

Striker Jake Robinson saw red for Town's reserves in midweek but his suspension does not counts towards first-team matches, meaning he will be available.

Midfielder Steve Leslie also started for the second string in their goalless draw against Port Vale but Simpson insists he remains very much part of his plans against Dale as Shrews look to gain revenge for their crushing 4-0 defeat at Spotland back in December.

Rochdale defender Craig Dawson will wear a specially-designed facial mask.

The highly-rated youngster sustained a facial injury in last weekend's 1-1 draw at home to Lincoln and will wear the mask to protect him.

Dawson said: "I'm sure the lads will give me some stick about the mask but I can live with that just so long as it allows me to play."

Dale boss Keith Hill has no other major concerns as his side bid to get their promotion bid back on track after last weekend's wobble against lowly Lincoln.

Hill defiantly declared: "We've been top for the last three months and I don't see any reason why that should change."
