Hereford's encounter against Macclesfield at Edgar Street on Saturday could be postponed following the death of Town manager Keith Alexander.

The entire football world is mourning the loss of the Silkmen boss, who passed away after arriving home from the club's league match against Notts County at Meadow Lane on Tuesday night.

Chairman Mike Rance has already spoken to Hereford counterpart Graham Turner, and the Town chief told Press Association Sport: "Graham also knew Keith very well and the decision as to whether Saturday's game goes ahead will be taken by Keith's family shortly."

Rance added: "I know what Keith would have wanted, but it will be his family's decision.

"The players are back in tomorrow and, after speaking to Keith's wife Helen, we expect a decision will be made in the next 24 hours."
