Shrewsbury boss Paul Simpson accused his side of playing with fear after a late Dave Hibbert goal earned them a 2-2 draw with Macclesfield.

In a frenetic end to the opening period, Macclesfield took the lead in the first minute of injury-time when an unmarked Nat Brown headed home Carl Tremarco's corner.

Waide Fairhurst equalised for Shrewsbury only for Colin Daniel to put Macclesfield back in front just before the break. However, Shrewsbury managed to rescue a point when Jamie Devitt's floated free-kick was flicked in by Hibbert at the death.

"We're playing with fear" said Simpson, whose side has slipped out of the play off places with just two wins from 14 league games.

"This was a horrible scrappy performance again. We got in only two decent crosses and scored from both. In a way we were fortunate by getting a late goal."
