Luton have allowed striker Drew Talbot to join League Two rivals Chesterfield on loan until the end of the season.
The 22-year-old returned from a serious knee injury in November, but has failed to score for the Hatters this season.
Mick Harford said: "Drew wants to relocate and be nearer his family up north and we both feel it's the right thing to do."
He added: "He's still got a year left on his contract so we'll see where this move takes him come the end of the season."
