Darlington boss Colin Todd remains in upbeat mood despite the Quakers suffering three straight defeats this season.

Todd has totally revamped his Darlington squad this summer, but saw plenty of positives in Tuesday’s defeat at home to Crewe.

"It is very early days yet and once we start doing the simple things like concentrating for 90 minutes then results will start to go our way," said Todd.

"I have to give the players credit. They performed well against a side who were relegated last year and they will be up near the top this season, make no mistake of that.

"Crewe said that they were surprised with the way that we got at them and that is nice to hear from your opponents.

"Yes, we are all disappointed but it's too early to press the panic button. Once we have started to put our chances away we will be fine.
