Kidderminster's 2-1 home win over Rochdale at the weekend was just what the doctor ordered. Harriers, who are in intensive care at the bottom of League Two,finally handed themselves a lifeline with only their fourth win of the campaign. Not only was it was a good start for new manager Stuart Watkiss, but it was also a good day for veteran midfielder Tom Bennett. The 35-year-old had suffered four straight defeats since arriving at the club from Boston a month ago. He was signed by Shaun Cunnington - who is now back in charge of the youth team - so will be looking to make an impression on the new manager. However, Harriers' plight at the bottom of the table is not a new experience for Bennett and he hopes his experience will come in handy as he revealed to givemefootball's Ian Clarkson

Q:YOU HAVE BEEN IN THIS POSITION BEFORE HAVEN'T YOU?

A:I signed for Boston just as they had six points deducted three seasons ago. It meant that we were always playing catch up and it isn't easy. But I know what it takes to survive and hopefully I can pass that experience on to the younger lads in the team.

Q:WHAT ADVICE WILL YOU BE GIVING THEM?

A:The crucial one is that we need to win at home and turn it into a fortress. Boston have only won away once all season - ironically at Kidderminster - and they are only two points outside the play-offs. While we need to pick up points on the road it isn't as crucial as our home form. If we start winning at Aggborough we will stay up - it's as simple as that.

Q:WHY DID YOU LEAVE BOSTON TO JOIN KIDDERMINSTER?

A:I could have just sat on my contract at Boston, but I wasn't going to be playing regularly. Steve Evans had decided that Dave Noble was going to be playing in my role so that meant I could look elsewhere and I was desperate to play. I know Kidderminster are bottom of the table but I like a challenge and we can only go one way.

Q:WHAT HAS THE NEW MANAGER SAID TO YOU?

A:The gaffer has told me that he wants me to sit in front of the back four, which is tailor made for me. He wants us to play football and the role he has earmarked for me will allow me to get on the ball more. It is a challenge for me and everyone at the club to get out of this situation.

Q:WHAT HAVE THE PROBLEMS BEEN DO YOU THINK?

A:We have been letting in too many goals and I think the signing of Simon Weaver will help us. We gave away a couple of bad goals at Yeovil last week and if we can keep clean sheets then that is half the battle. I genuinely feel that we can turn the corner but we need to pick up our form quickly. The win against Rochdale was a good start.

Q:DOES THAT MEAN YOU WILL BE VERY VOCAL AS AN EXPERIENCED PLAYER?

A:I am always very vocal anyway. But rather than shout about it, it is important to do your talking on the pitch. I am only here till the end of the season and I would like to stay longer if I can. However, I know the responsibility lies with us to start producing the goods. If it gets to the stage where we need to win once every other game then it is going to be very difficult.
