Torquay have agreed a deal with on-loan QPR midfielder Joe Oastler to remain at Plainmoor next season.

Oastler has made 18 starts and nine substitute appearances in total for the Gulls since arriving in October and is due to see his Rangers deal expire in the summer.

"We have agreed a deal in principle," Torquay boss Paul Buckle told the Herald Express. "Joe wants to stay with us next year, and we'd like to have him."

He added: "For the time being we won't be finalising any contract issues until the end of the season.

"We want to concentrate on Rotherham away on Saturday and staying in the play-offs."

Meanwhile, fellow loan midfielder Craig Stanley will play no part at the Don Valley Stadium this weekend having returned to parent club Morecambe at the end of his loan spell.
