Torquay have signed former St Mirren full-back Mo Camara ahead of Saturday's home game against Port Vale.

Camara, 34, joins The Gulls on a short-term contract until the end of the season.

Torquay boss Paul Buckle said: "Mo has bags of experience and arrives at a good time because Sam has gone back to Tottenham."

He added: "We need the squad to be strong and now we have added Mo for experience at the back and we have options up front because we brought Ashley Barnes in on loan from Plymouth at the start of the week."

Camara was released by St Mirren last month and can play for The Gulls subject to international clearance.

Camara arrives at Plainmoor as defensive cover as on-loan Tottenham teenager Sam Cox has been recalled by his parent club.
