Grimsby have extended Michael Coulson`s loan spell from Barnsley until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old, who can play up front or on the wing, has scored once in nine appearances since joining the struggling League Two club in November.

"He's been a great addition for us. He's versatile in that he can play on either flank or up front and also gives us a lot of energy," said Grimsby boss Neil Woods.

"He`s so enthusiastic and that is infectious - it rubs off on other players and the fans have taken to him because of his commitment in every game. The supporters like to see that and it's a big bonus to have his stay confirmed."
