Luton first-team coach Kevin Watson fears his side will run out of time in their bid to keep their Football League status despite beating Macclesfield 1-0.

Tom Craddock netted a controversial penalty in the 69th minute to earn the win, but the Hatters are still 11 points off safety with just seven games left.

"Again the lads' attitude and endeavour was spot on and based on chances and possession we deserved the win," said Watson.

"There were a few expletives in the dressing room when we saw the other results because we feel we're better than a lot of the other teams in the division and we feel our position is unjust.

"The deficit is closing. Whether it closes by enough at the end of the season remains to be seen but we believe we can do it and we're on a good run now."
