Exeter City chairwoman Denise Watts will resign at the end of the season.

Watts took charge in 2006 and she has seen Exeter promoted from the Conference back into the Football League in her time at the club.

The club is now hunting for a new chairperson to take over at St James's Park.

A statement on the club's official website by the board of directors said: "We are seeking a candidate who has a proven track record at the highest level of the public or private sector, and who feels an affinity with what we are seeking to achieve at Exeter City.

"The board would like to place on record their thanks and appreciation for the tireless work she has undertaken."
