Notts County have extended Nat Wedderburn's loan spell from Stoke for a third and final month.

The teenage midfielder has impressed Magpies manager Ian McParland since he first arrived at Meadow Lane at the end of November.

Wedderburn has played an important role for the League Two club, proving to be capable cover while Richard Butcher, Gavin Strachan and Adam Nowland recovered from injury.

"Nat has done very well for us. He is a young lad who is learning his trade but make no mistake about it, he can have a very bright future in the game," said McParland. "He has been unlucky not to start more often but when he returned from injury John Thompson and Adam Nowland were performing well in midfield.

"Nat has been patient and when he has come off the bench his performances have been good. He has now got another month to gain some more experience and I`m sure he will play his part."

Wedderburn, 17, will return to the Britannia Stadium after Notts County's league game at Darlington on March 3.
