Ashley Westwood has penned a new and improved contract with Crewe until 2012.
Westwood has impressed for Alex since breaking into the first-team, making 18 appearances in the process.
And the versatile 19-year-old is ecstatic to commit his future to the club, telling their official website: "I am delighted to have signed the new contract and it is good for the confidence to know that Dario (Gradi) and the club have faith in me."
He added: "All I ever wanted to do when I was a younger was to play for Crewe and now that I am it is a real buzz."
