Peterborough defender Tom Williams will miss the rest of the season after suffering a medial ligament tear of his right knee.

The injury occurred during the second half of the 2-1 win over Oldham and the left-back, who has been restricted to 22 league starts this campaign, admits it is a bitter blow after an already frustrating season.

"We found out that it is a bit more serious than we first feared and that is my season over, which is very frustrating and disappointing," he told the club's official website.

"It caps a rather frustrating campaign for me to be honest," he added.

"I have had a long spell on the sidelines already this term so it is frustrating that my season is over, but hopefully the lads can do the business and when I come back we will be preparing for a campaign in the Championship."
