Bristol Rovers have signed Torquay striker Chris Zebroski for an undisclosed fee after former Plainmoor boss Paul Buckle moved to secure his services.
Zebroski, who was top-scorer for United last season, had expressed his desire to leave Plainmoor after handing in a transfer request last week.
United boss Martin Ling said: "We tried to offer him a new contract and relocation package but Chris was adamant that the time was right to move on."
He added: "Chris was a very high earner at our club and we now have space in the wage structure and the receipt of a transfer fee to allow us to fill the slots in my squad."
