Givemefootball is the home of the PFA transfer list, a directory of all players released and looking for a club.
In affect, the
list provides the football industry and fans alike the opportunity to view players who are free agents, available to any club willing to make an offer. It puts you the fan in the position of the boss, scouting players in a ‘Football Manager’ type scenario.
The
PFA transfer list contains names young and old, with youth team players looking to gain experience at clubs or senior pros looking for another club to ply their trade.
The depth of the
list is truly staggering, with over 600 names currently available. Headline grabbers include
Michael Owen, who may or may not be on his way to
Manchester United, and
Jermaine Pennant.
Some big names with serious lower league credentials are also on the
list, with
Barry Hayles a player still capable of doing a job in League One or Two, maybe higher.
Jonathan Douglas is another who would attract a lot of interest in the bottom two tiers after his release from
Leeds.
So, in true computer game style, we here at Givemefootball decided to pick our
PFA transfer list best XI.
Some big names missed the cut,
Darius Vassell for example, but that doesn’t mean our starting line-up isn’t lacking in quality, pace and experience, both at club and international level.
We opted for a 4-4-2, with internationals
Matthew Holland and
Didi Hamann anchoring the midfield.
Leroy Lita and Owen provide pace in abundance up top, in what would be a feared strike-force for any Premier League outfit.
Starting line-up:- Gabor Kiraly, Lauren, Sol Campbell, Michael Duberry, Michael Ball, Jermaine Pennant, Matt Holland, Didi Hamann, Julian Gray, leroy Lita, Michael Owen.
Bench:- Danny Mills, Godwin Antwi, Keith Gillespie, Andy Van Der Meyde, Collins John, Henri Camara, Mark Viduka
