Aaron Downes is a stylish central defender who has made over 150 appearances for Chesterfield since joining the Spireites in the summer of 2004.
Aaron is strong in the air and an effective player on the ground. He played regularly last season until suffering a knee injury in April which kept him out for six months.
Aaron returned to reserve team action in October and was back in the first-team squad on the bench in December.
He has represented Australia, appearing for both the U20s and the Olympic Games team.
