Diego Penny is a goalkeeper who signed for Burnley in the summer of 2008.
The tall shot-stopper began his senior in Peru with Coronel Bolognesi of Tacna, helping his team to the Primera Division Clausura title at the end of 2007 and also featuring in the Copa Libertadores.
Although he made his debut for the Clarets in the opening match of the 2008-09 campaign against Sheffield Wednesday he has since failed to break Brian Jensen’s hold on the ‘keeper’s jersey and has been restricted to a place on the first-team bench, apart from a couple of outings in the Carling Cup this season.
Diego has been capped six times by Peru, making his last appearance in a World Cup qualifying tie against Ecuador in November 2007.
