Habib Beye is a veteran French defender who signed for Aston Villa in the summer of 2009. After starting his career on the books of Paris St Germain, he played for Strasbourg and Marseilles before moving to Newcastle in 2007.
A hard-working right back who is strong in the tackle, he can also play in central defence. Habib made his Villa debut in the first game of the season at home to Wigan at right back, but has since been replaced as first choice and is currently finding it difficult to get back into the side. He has represented Senegal at international level.
