James Collins is an experienced defender who plays for Aston Villa. After starting his career with Cardiff City and later playing for West Ham, Villa signed James in August 2009.
A central defender with excellent ball control and man-marking ability, he settled into the Villa team, making his debut in a 1-0 win over local rivals Birmingham City and scoring his first goal for Villa in the 2-1 win at home to Chelsea.
He lost his first-team spot through injury and has recently had to be content with a place on the bench. James has played over 100 senior games and made 33 full appearances for Wales, the most recent coming when he captained the side in a World Cup qualifier against Liechtenstein in October 2009.
