Marlon Harewood is an experienced striker on Aston Villa’s books. After spells with Nottingham Forest and West Ham he joined Villa at the beginning of 2007-08. Marlon made just one league start that season, and none the following year, but was a regular on the bench, often coming on as a late substitute.
He uses his aerial prowess and physical power to good effect and despite a lack of first-team action Marlon’s effort and non-stop determination made him a cult hero with Villa supporters. Often described as an old-fashioned centre forward, Marlon moved on loan to Wolves at the end of 2008-09 and at the start of this season joined Newcastle United, also on loan. He is now a veteran of over 400 first team games.
