Martin Cranie is a young defender who signed for Coventry City shortly after the start of the 2009-10 campaign. An intelligent centre back with a good touch on the ball, Martin went straight into the Sky Blues’ line-up producing some assured performances in his opening appearances and contributing a headed goal in the 3-2 win over Sheffield United in September.
Martin has been a regular for England U21s in recent seasons and was a member of the team defeated by Germany in the final of the UEFA U21 Championships in Sweden in June 2009.
