Marton Fulop is a goalkeeper currently with Sunderland. Marton was signed from Tottenham in late 2006.
He came to England in 2004, having played for MTK Hungaria in his homeland, and made his league debut during a loan spell at Chesterfield in 2005.
Marton established himself as a confident 'keeper during a season-long loan at Coventry in 2005-06, before joining Sunderland on a month's loan, and a permanent move followed, with Ben Alnwick moving to White Hart Lane.
In the summer of 2007, Marton went out on loan again, this time at Leicester, where he produced a series of impressive displays before returning to Sunderland in December. Leicester attempted to sign Marton permanently, but he stayed on Wearside, and was briefly loaned to Stoke, returning after only a few days.
First-team opportunities came courtesy to injuries to Craig Gordon, and in 2008-09 he produced a number of commanding performances to help ensure Premiership status for Sunderland.
An impressive display in the opening game of the 2009-10 season brought victory at Bolton, and Marton was back between the sticks after Craig Gordon broke his arm at Tottenham.
Having played 11 times for the U21s, Marton made his full international debut from the bench against France in May 2005, and he currently has 20 full caps.
