Michael Duff is a versatile defender on the books of Burnley.
Strong in the tackle and effective in the air, he is a tall powerful defender who can play either at right back or in the centre of the defence. Last term he featured in over half the Claret’s Championship fixtures, but he missed the opening weeks of the 2009-10 season after suffering an ankle injury during the pre-season period.
Michael returned to action for the Carling Cup tie with Barnsley in September but has since been unable to force his way back into the side, although he has regularly been an unused substitute. Michael made his debut for Northern Ireland in 2002 and currently has 22 caps, his most recent appearance coming against Hungary in November 2008.
