Ricardo Gardner is a long-serving midfield player for Bolton Wanderers. As a youngster he played in the Jamaica Premier League at the age of 14, and after some fine performances for his country in the 1998 World Cup finals he signed for Wanderers.
Essentially a left-sided player, although he has also been used in a central midfield role, Ricardo is effective when carrying the ball forward, good at closing down opponents and has a useful eye for goal. He remains a regular at international level for Jamaica and captained the side at the 2009 Gold Cup finals in the USA.
