vote for Robbie Fowler

Robbie Fowler was born on 9th April 1975 and made his debut in 1993 with Liverpool where his goal-scoring feats would make him a Liverpool legend. He literally burst on to the scene with 12 Premiership goals in 1992/93 despite being just 18 years old and the two subsequent campaigns brought 25 and 28 goals respectively. In all, Robbie scored 120 premiership goals for Liverpool in an eight-year period. His only trophy was the English League Cup in 1994/95 - that is, until the 2000-01 season, when Liverpool won a ‘treble’ of League Cup, FA Cup and UEFA Cup.

In 2001-02 he moved to Leeds United but, despite 14 goals in just 30 league appearances, he signed for Manchester City FC a year later. Injury hampered his time at City, although he still managed 20 goals in 80 league games for the club. After scoring his final goal against their – and Liverpool's – great rivals, Manchester United, Robbie surprisingly returned to Merseyside on a free transfer in January 2006, agreeing a six-month deal with his hometown club.

As of May 2006, Robbie is the fourth highest goal-scorer in Premier League history, behind Thierry Henry, Andy Cole and Alan Shearer. Despite many years of excellent form at club level, his international career seldom got off the ground. He scored seven times in 26 appearances for England, the last of which came at the 2002 FIFA World Cup. In 1995 he was voted PFA Young Player of the Year.
