Roman Pavlyuchenko is a striker who joined Tottenham Hotspur from Spartak Moscow in August 2008.
A prolific scorer in his days with Spartak, Roman starred for Russia at Euro 2008 when he was named in the UEFA team of the tournament. Roman featured regularly for Spurs in 2008-09, appearing in the team defeated by Manchester United in the Carling Cup final, although he only managed five Premiership goals.
This term he has found it difficult to break into the line-up and his only starts have come in the Carling Cup. Roman remains a regular for Russia at international level having won 33 caps and scored 15 goals to date (January 2010).
He featured in both legs of their World Cup play-off fixtures against Slovenia when they narrowly failed to reach the tournament finals.
