Fulham midfielder Leon Andreasen could return to Germany after finding his opportunities limited at Craven Cottage under manager Roy Hodgson.
Hannover and Borussia Dortmund are thought to be monitoring the 25-year-old, who was signed from Werder Bremen for £2million but has not started a Barclays Premier League match this season.
"The manager favours some others and that is fair enough," he told Danish newspaper DR Sporten. "But then I also expect that they will not destroy my career by holding onto me."
He added: "Maybe if there was a bomb in the dressing room and four players broke their legs then it might well be that I came to play."
Hannover sports director Christian Hochstatter has confirmed an interest in the player.
"He is an interesting player and we have enquired with his advisers," Hochstatter told Kicker.
