Highly rated Borussia Dortmund defender Neven Subotic will not be leaving Germany this summer, ruling out a transfer to the Barclays Premier League with Arsenal reports talkSPORT.

The 22-year-old Bundesliga star has attracted interest from a number of potential suitors in recent months, including Manchester United, but Subotic's agent Stephen Kelly confirmed his client will remain in Dortmund.

"Neven will not be leaving Dortmund this summer, I am certain. He is happy there and has a very good contract, one that expires in 2014," he said.

With Manchester United recently announcing the capture of England U21 international defender Phil Jones – who moves to Old Trafford in a deal worth an initial £16.5million, Sir Alex Ferguson is unlikely to be perturbed by the latest developments.

But with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger – who was also interested in Red Devil Jones, still looking to strengthen his defensive department at the Emirates Stadium this summer, the news will be a bigger blow to Arsenal's prospective transfer plans.

"Of course there is interest and, has been from the beginning, but he does not want to leave the club. He wants to play for them in the Champions League," Kelly concluded.

After joining Dortmund from Mainz in the summer of 2008, Subotic has turned in a number of assured performances for the German giants, and is thought to have been on both Arsenal and Manchester United's radar for some time.

Interest from Spain has also been previously declared with both Barcelona and Real Madrid monitoring his situation, but the former USA U20 international has shelved all doubts surrounding his future by reaffirming his commitment to the Bundesliga outfit.
