Arsenal goalkeeper Manuel Almunia has his sights set on an extended stay at West Ham.
The 34-year-old Spanish stopper dropped into the Npower Championship on an initial one-month emergency loan deal, to act as cover for the injured Robert Green.
But having fallen down the Gunners pecking order at the Emirates Stadium, behind the likes of Wojciech Szczesny and Lukasz Fabianski, Almunia is hoping he will be allowed to remain at Upton Park.
Hammers boss Sam Allardyce has been impressed with the impact made by the Arsenal star since he arrived in west London, and Almunia himself is just happy to be back playing after being frozen out of the first-team fold under Arsene Wenger.
"It's good to feel the game again," he told The Sun. "We will see if I extend my loan.
"At the moment I am happy - it is a great club with nice people and that's enough for me."
After a West Ham debut against Crystal Palace, Almunia kept his first clean sheet since April in the Hammers' 4-0 drubbing of Blackpool last weekend, but couldn't help them from going down 1-0 to table-topping Southampton at St Mary's last night.
