Arsene Wenger has targeted Klaas-Jan Huntelaar as a replacement for the injured Robin van Persie.
The Arsenal boss has admitted that he will have to become active in the January transfer window following the injury to his current Dutch superstar, and Huntelaar tops the list of his potential striker targets.
Bordeaux forward Marouane Chamakh, Inter Milan striker Mario Balotelli and Real Madrid veteran Ruud van Nistelrooy are just three players who have been linked to the Emirates in recent weeks, but now The Guardian highlights AC Milan hitman Huntelaar as another possible target.
The Dutchman has struggled to break in at the San Siro, but appears to have kick-started his Rossoneri career with a match winning substitute display in the 2-0 weekend victory over Catania at the weekend.
The 26-year-old reiterated that he is determined to fight for his place with AC, but with a World Cup looming in summer 2010, Huntelaar will be keen to play as much football as possible.
"I never considered leaving the club in January," said Huntelaar recently.
"I have worked hard to play and to score. I want to play for Milan and I will fight here."
