Arsene Wenger is reportedly after young Barcelona striker Bojan Krkic.
The Gunners are looking to add some strength to their attacking line this January, and have recently been linked with a host of strikers, including Carlton Cole of West Ham United and Marouane Chamakh of Bordeaux.
With injuries adding up at the Emirates, the Arsenal boss has confirmed that he have to become active when the transfer window opens at the start of 2010. "We will be in the market in January," said the Frenchman.
Bojan was expected to be the next great superstar at the Nou Camp after a glittering career in their youth set-up, but has struggled to break into the side after the arrival of Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The key drawback would be his unavailability for the Champions League, although Wenger recently accepted that it would be difficult to find a top striker in europe who doesn't play in the European Cup.
"Finding someone world class, who hasn’t played in the Champions League and who is available is not easy," said Wenger. The Daily Star reports that Wenger is interested in making an offer at around the £8 million mark, although Barca are keen on a short-term loan deal.
