Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has leapt to the defence of striker Peter Crouch and is backing the 6ft 7ins forward to break his scoring duck and prove the doubters wrong.Crouch has come under sustained criticism following his England and Liverpool displays which have failed to produce a goal this season. But Benitez said: "People have suggested we need to get more crosses into the area for him and I agree with that. I´m happy with the way Crouch has played so far. Like any striker though, he wants to score goals and it will be good for him when he does score."
