Chelsea have reportedly lined-up to sign new Italy star Antonio Candreva in the January transfer window.

Candreva is seen as the perfect solution for the hole left by Michael Essien and John Obi Mikel that head to the Africa Cup of Nations in January.

With blues boss Carlo Ancelotti knowing his way around Serie-A, Chelsea look set to beat other interest coming from likes of AC Milan and Juventus.

It is no surprise Antonio Candreva is keen for a move to the current Premier League leaders who is currently on loan at Livorno from Udinese

Even the president of Livorno confirmed Chelsea's strong interest. "I do not know if he will stay in Udine next season because many Italian and foreign clubs are watching him, not least Chelsea.

He deserves all this attention because apart from being a good player, he is also a nice guy with a good head on his shoulders," the chief told Udineseblog.it.

Candreva has a good international record, a regular member of the Italian youth teams, represented Italy in the 2008 Summer Olympics as well as U-21 squad member in the 2009 Euro U-21 Championship.

Most recently the talented italian made his international senior debut against Holland with a solid performance in a 0-0 draw.

Its not surprising that Candreva has the biggest clubs in Europe tracking his progress.

With the financial muscle coming from Chelsea it looks certain he will be heading to West London.
