Burton manager Paul Peschisolido has admitted the club are "miles apart" from agreeing a new deal with striker Lee Morris.

Morris, 29, was a key figure in Burton's promotion to the Football League last season.

Peschisolido said: "We were miles apart with regard to contract negotiations, so at the minute it's on hold."

But Peschisolido is close to clinching a season-long loan deal for Birmingham's Robin Shroot.

The Republic of Ireland Under-21s striker has agreed a deal with the Brewers and should start training on July 1.

Peschisolido added: "He's got an eye for goal and he's a very skilful player. I'm delighted to hopefully get him on board for next season. Now we are looking more in other positions than for front men because we've got Robin Shroot."
