Celtic manager Neil Lennon is refusing to part with full-back Adam Matthews in the transfer window, despite reported interest from Liverpool.

The Daily Record have reported that the Premier League outfit are tracking the defender following talk of a bust up between manager and player earlier in the season.

However, Lennon, who is also fielding interest in Gary Hooper and Kris Commons, has rejected any talk of Matthews' exit to Liverpool.

“It’s speculation. I’m not interested in anyone being sold unless the club receives a knock-out offer," Lennon said.

“Kris will be in contention for a place against Dundee United next weekend. Gary missed Peterhead because of a niggle and so did Adam. James Forrest has a virus."

The recent signings of Jordon Ibe and Seyi Ojo suggest Liverpool's transfer policy will lean towards drafting in young players.

Liverpool's pursuit of a striker appears to be the No.1 priority in this transfer window however, despite a move for Darren Bent having been rejected.
