Chelsea have been boosted in the race for Inter Milan striker Mario Balotelli with news that Arsenal will not bid for the striker.
Arsene Wenger was thought to be a front-runner in the race to land the young striker, but the Frenchman told his clubs official website that Arsenal weren't interested.
"We are not interested in Mario Balotelli, you can write that," said Wenger.
“Chelsea can buy him as much as they want, they have no competition on the subject."
The news will come as good news to Carlo Ancelotti and the Blues, who have recently entered the race for the 19-year-old striker who is valued at around £18 million.
"I would sign a player like Balotelli," said Ancelotti.
With the Blues set to lose a handful of players in January to the African Cup of Nations, and their transfer ban lifted, Balotelli could be making his way to the Bridge in the New Year.
