Chelsea are reportedly on the verge of tying up a deal for highly rated Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez.
Reports in Holland suggest that the players agent, Daniel Fonseca, has agreed terms at Stamford Bridge, and is waiting for the two clubs to come to an agreement over a fee for the forward.
Ajax would be keen to hold onto the striker until the summer at least, but with Chelsea unsure about their future in the transfer market ahead of the hearing on their possible transfer ban, the Blues might be forced to make some moves in January.
Add in the African Cup of Nations, which will take a handful of Chelsea stars, including Didier Drogba, in the opening month of the New Year. With this in mind, you can see why Ancelotti might be keen to add another forward in West London.
Suarez would fit the bill, scoring more than a goal every other game for the Dutch giants in the Eredivisie. He also has nine international goals to his name in just 25 appearances.
At just 22 years of age, the young striker has time on his side as well. Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti holds the top cards and the Blues are all set to make a decisive move.
