Premier League front-runners Chelsea are reportedly set to make a £4million offer for Middlesbrough winger Adam Johnson.
The Daily Mirror claim, the 22-year-old winger will be snapped up by the Blues, now their transfer ban from FIFA, has been overturned following a successful appeal.
Johnson impressive form has attracted a host of interest from several other clubs such as, Manchester United, Tottenham, Sunderland, Everton, and most surprisingly Real Madrid, is out of contract at the end of the season.
The England Under-21 international admitted he wants to play his football at the highest level.
However the move would see the talented player, immediately loaned back to the Championship club. This will be good news for Gordon Strachan as he is desperate to retain the 22-year-old, to boost the clubs chances of a return to the Premier League.
Johnson is regarded by the blues hierarchy as one for the future and his immediate first team chances would be limited with the like of Joe Cole, Flourent Malouda, and Yuri Zhirkov, ahead of him in the pecking order.
