Manchester City are hoping to tie up a deal to take Roma defender Marco Motta on loan till the end of the season.
The 23-year-old revealed he was set to leave the club after saying goodbye to the Roma fans following their win over Carania on Tuesday.
Motta said: “I want to thank everyone for the months I spent with the Giallorossi. See you soon”
Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is looking to strengthen his defence before the January transfer window draws to a close in just a few days time and has outlined Motta as a potential target.
Motta has struggled to play regular first-team football for Claudio Ranieri’s side and is set leave the club to secure a place in Italy’s squad for the World Cup.
The Italian international has made just 19 appearances for the Italian side since signing in 2009.
