The rumours about Robinho and Barcelona just won’t go away, and are sure to intensify in the lead up to January.

The Spanish giants are apparently not giving up hope of prising Robinho away from Manchester City in the winter transfer window.

They believe a loan deal – worth around £3.5m - could be on the cards, according to reports in Spain.

Barca have made their interest in the Brazilian public.

The 25-year-old has said in the past he could become the best player in the world at the Nou Camp.

El Mundo Deportivo now believe that manager Mark Hughes could be prepared to let Robinho go if City can find a replacement to boost his squad as they bid for a top four spot in the Premier League.

Hughes watched Barca play against Osasuna in Pamplona on Saturday and met technical secretary Txiki Begiristain, but spoke as only as old friends.

"We didn't speak about Robinho. It wasn't the time for those sort of questions," he told Radio Catalunya.

City have been climbing the table without the former Real Madrid star, who has been injured for the past two months and is only now returning to full fitness.
