Tottenham goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini is set to undergo wrist and pelvic surgery.

The 36-year-old Italian fractured both wrists and injured his pelvis after crashing his motorbike in London on Thursday.

Tottenham's head of medical services Wayne Diesel said on the official club website: "We have leading specialists looking after Carlo and once surgery is complete and his recovery is under way, we will have a clearer idea of how many weeks he will be out for."

Manager Harry Redknapp added: "We are all sorry to hear about what has happened to Carlo. We are just relieved that the injuries that he sustained in the accident weren't more serious.

"Everyone at the club sends their best wishes and we hope that he recovers soon."
