Jermain Defoe aims to continue his march up the all-time Tottenham Hotspur goalscoring charts, and has his sights set on Glenn Hoddle in 12th.
The Spurs striker took his personal tally to 107 on Sunday, three goals behind the former England manager's tally at White Hart Lane.
Despite spending much of the current campaign on the bench for Harry Redknapp's side, Defoe continues to take his chances when introduced to games, with his predatory finish against Fulham a prime example.
“I’ve always said when you get a chance, even if it’s a half-chance, you’ve got to take it,” he told the official Tottenham Hotspur website.
“That third goal was game over. It was an important goal and the game was done."
Fulham pushed the visitors all the way at Craven Cottage on Sunday, with first-half strikes from Gareth Bale and Aaron Lennon seemingly sending Spurs towards victory.
However, a Younes Kaboul own goal brought the Cottagers back into the match, with Martin Jol's side putting intense pressure on Spurs in the closing stages of the match.
Goal-line clearances, last ditch tackles and a couple of penalty appeals all went against the hosts, and Defoe admitted that luck was on the side of stand-in manager Joe Jordan's side.
"When Luka (Modric) knocked the header around the post, that’s when I thought ‘our luck’s in today, I don’t think they’ll score now’,” he added.
“The pressure was unbelievable. Credit to Fulham, they played well. They pushed and pushed, we defended well and got the luck that we needed.
“I thought it was important that we got the two goals in the first half. They put us under a lot of pressure in the second half and it was important to hold onto the three points.”
